Music Blog *No. 1

I have always wanted a blog about music. I tried RateYourMusic, but I don't like the format, and a lot of stuff I like is not uploaded yet (I'm so cool, I know). That brings me to this artist today. Push Ups is a New York shoegaze band that blends dreampop and hardcore sounds with teen heartthrob vocals reminiscent of All-American Rejects and The Click Five. They remind me of a 'cuter' version of Superheaven. They have such a distinct sound that I think is refreshing. I find a lot of sludgy, alternative artists don't play with tempo, whereas this band does really well. It brings me to the beach scene in Aquamarine; I just picture 20-somethings dancing at dusk with an ocean breeze, and probably someone is crying. Anyways, give them a listen.
